Bud Light announces lineup for Super Bowl weekend concert series

Bud Light, the official beer sponsor of the NFL, announced its concert lineup for the four-day weekend during Super Bowl 2014 at the Bud Light Hotel. The lineup includes headline performances by musical artists the Foo Fighters and Imagine Dragons as well as a tribute to New York City’s hip-hop history curated by The Roots. Last month, the brand of St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch announced that the Bud Light Hotel will take place on a brand-new cruise ship docked in the Hudson River in New York.

Craft brewers’ economic contribution reached $34 billion in 2012

According to a new analysis by the Brewers Association (BA), small and independent American craft brewers contributed $33.9 billion to the U.S. economy in 2012. Premium alcohol beverages boost on-premise sales

Consumers are ‘drinking less but drinking better,’ Technomic reports
December 2, 2013

Premium adult beverages are providing momentum to the on-premise channel, according to Chicago-based Technomic Inc.’s 2013 BarTAB Report. Although the channel is slowing overall as consumers control their spending, higher-priced spirits and beers are growing in restaurants and bars, Technomic reports. In 2012, the on-premise channel grew in 0.7 percent in total volume to reach 1.9 billion gallons, and sales rose 3.5 percent to $97.3 billion, it reports. However, Technomic projects there will be slight declines in volume but continued dollar growth in 2013 and 2014.
