Goose Island Beer Co., a part of Anheuser-Busch, launched the second of three new beers as part of its Imperial Series: The Ogden. Released in early May, The Ogden is a dry-hopped Belgian Tripel available for a limited time nationwide. The Ogden pays homage to Chicago’s first mayor, William B. Ogden, who opened Chicago’s first brewery. He also was a trustee to the Chicago Land Co., which cut a channel that resulted in the creation of Goose Island, the very namesake of Goose Island Beer Co. The beer contains 9 percent alcohol by volume and is available in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles.
