Swig, Liquid Death Halloween collaboration sparks social media frenzy

Swig, Home of the Original Dirty Soda, and Liquid Death launched their first-ever collaboration on Oct. 26, introducing Blood Thirsty, a limited-time drink served in an exclusive 20-ounce color-changing collectible cup.

While the drink was designed to bring together two brands known for their unconventional approach to beverages, it was the collectible cup that quickly became the star of the show.

Within hours of launch, consumers began flooding social media with photos and videos of their new cups, showing off the color-changing design and sharing their excitement over the unexpected collaboration. The cup quickly became a coveted Halloween collectible, with consumers turning their Swig runs into social media moments.

Just 48 hours after launch, the collectible cups were sold out.

“When we connected with Liquid Death, we knew this was an iconic beverage moment waiting to happen, and we had to move fast,” said Alex Dunn, CEO of Swig, in a statement. “Both brands have incredibly passionate fan bases, and we knew we could create something unexpected together. Seeing fans embrace the collaboration and sell out the collectible cups in just 48 hours has been incredible.”

The partnership brought together Swig’s signature dirty soda creativity and Liquid Death’s rebellious brand personality. Blood Thirsty combines Liquid Death’s new Blood Zero Energy with raspberry purée, vanilla, fresh lime and vanilla cream, originally served in an exclusive cup that transforms when filled with a cold beverage.

Beyond the drink itself, the response demonstrated how a limited-time collaboration can create a cultural moment when two brands with passionate fan bases come together, the company says. What started as a Halloween beverage launch quickly became a social media conversation, driven by consumers eager to get their hands on the collectible before it disappeared, it notes.

Although the limited-edition cups are gone, the Halloween collaboration isn’t over just yet. Blood Thirsty remains available at participating Swig locations through Oct. 31, served in a classic Swig cup, while supplies last.
