PLEZi Hydration, a next-generation sports hydration drink, has relaunched in collaboration with Stephen and Ayesha Curry. The hydration brand is an extension of PLEZi Nutrition, a Public Benefit Company, which was co-founded by Michelle Obama.
PLEZi Hydration sets a new standard for sports hydration by real fruit juice flavor and elite performance benefits, the brand says. The drink contains no added sugar, artificial colors or “junk ingredients,” it adds.
As co-founders and brand ambassadors, the Curry’s are helping to shape every aspect of the brand, from formulation and packaging to marketing. They bring their shared commitment to health, performance and wellness to every bottle, the brand notes.
“PLEZi Hydration is rooted in something we care deeply about — helping people perform at their best without compromising what goes into their bodies,” the Curry’s said in a statement. “We’ve always believed that joy fuels performance, and that taking care of yourself through smarter recovery and hydration is just as important as how hard you train. With PLEZi Hydration, we wanted to create something that delivers real performance benefits while tasting great and made with ingredients you can feel good about.”
PLEZi Hydration was engineered for serious performance, it says, delivering twice the electrolytes and seven times the potassium compared to leading sports drinks. This supports smarter recovery and sustained energy without the tradeoffs found in traditional sports hydration beverages, PLEZi Hydration adds.
The beverage is available in Orange Mango Swish, Fruit Punch, Lemon Lime Splash and Berry Boom, its newest flavor. PLEZi Hydration is designed for athletes and anyone living an active, high-energy lifestyle, offering refreshing flavor alongside real hydration benefits. The brand “reflects a growing demand for performance products that refuse to compromise on what’s inside,” it says.
The relaunch includes new packaging inspired by the swish of a basketball net, serving as a visual representation of motion, flow and recovery and signaling the brand’s evolution toward a more performance-driven identity.
“The sports drink category hasn’t meaningfully evolved in decades,” said Anup Sha, chief operating officer at PLEZi Nutrition, in a statement. “Consumers today want hydration that supports performance but is also made with real, recognizable ingredients. PLEZi Hydration was designed to deliver meaningful electrolyte replenishment without relying on added sugar, artificial colors or unnecessary ingredients — setting a new standard for what a modern sports drink should be.”
PLEZi Hydration is available in select Walmart, Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Ralph’s and Fred Meyer locations. It can also be ordered online on Amazon or Walmart.com.
