Gran Patrón Smoky roasted in underground stone pits

Patrón Tequila, a brand of Hamilton, Bermuda-based Bacardi Ltd., launched Gran Patrón Smoky, which uses agave that is roasted with mesquite for about seven days in small underground stone pits to craft the artisanal tequila. Gran Patrón Smoky honors traditional production methods dating back hundreds of years, it says. Like all Patrón Tequila, the process for Gran Patrón Smoky begins with the high-quality, 100 percent Weber Blue Agave.
Purchase makes Bacardi No. 1 spirits company, based on IWSR data

Bacardi Ltd., Hamilton, Bermuda, completed the transaction that makes the family owned company the sole owner of Patrón Spirits International AG, Schaffhausen, Switzerland, and PATRÓN, its super-premium tequila brand. The transaction follows a successful relationship the two companies have had since Bacardi’s initial acquisition of a 30 percent minority stake in Patrón Spirits in 2008.
Transaction expected to close in first half of 2018

Family owned Bacardi Ltd., Hamilton, Bermuda, announced that it is expanding its portfolio of premium spirits with a definitive agreement to acquire 100 percent ownership of Patrón Spirits International AG and its PATRÓN brand. The transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions, follows the relationship the companies have had since Bacardi’s initial acquisition of a significant minority stake in Patrón in 2008.
For the second consecutive year, Patrón, a brand of Las Vegas-based The Patron Spirits Co., is giving holiday entertainers and gift givers an added bonus for the season with the release of the 2016 large-size 1-liter, limited-edition Patrón Silver bottle.
Atotonilco, Mexico-based Patrón Spirits is introducing a new addition to its Patrón Citrónge liqueur portfolio. Patrón Citrónge Mango is crafted from the highest-quality Ataulfo mangos from the Mexican states of Nayarit and Chiapas, the company says.
The Patrón Spirits Co. released a line of higher-proof Roca Patrón tequilas produced using the rare tahona process, which uses a 2-ton stone wheel hand-carved from volcanic rock (roca) to slowly crush the cooked agave to break the bonds of fiber and release the agave juice, the company explains.
