Coca-Cola opens new Russian plant

The Coca-Cola Co., Atlanta, and its bottling partner, Coca-Cola Hellenic, Athens, Greece, will invest $3 billion in Russia during the next five years, beginning next year. The announcement came with the official opening of a new Coca-Cola plant in the Rostov region of Russia.

Purchase, N.Y.-based PepsiCo Inc., which grows and uses more than 3 million tons of fruits and vegetables for its juice brands each year, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China to promote sustainable agriculture projects and accelerate the development of the Chinese countryside.
