Following the growth trend in spirits and the rise of cocktail culture, mixers used in the preparation of cocktails and mixed drinks in restaurants and bars are on a solid growth trajectory, according to the “On-Premise Bar Mixer Marketplace” report by Chicago-based Technomic.

Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop, Dublin, Ohio, is adding single-serve coffee cups to its portfolio. The at-home brewing option is compatible for use in Waterbury, Vt.-based Green Mountain Coffee Roasters’ (GMCR) Keurig single-cup brewers, the company says. The single-serve coffee cups are not licensed and do not have an affiliation with GMCR, it adds.

Dublin-based C&C Group launched its International Wine Services (IWS) trading division to manage and market its newly acquired on-trade wine portfolio that includes the Oliver & Greg's brand, which it acquired earlier this year.

Congressmen Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore., and Chris Collins, R-N.Y., introduced the bipartisan Cider Industry Deserves Equal Regulation (CIDER) Act. The act would amend the section of the tax code that deals with wine and related beverages to allow hard cider-makers increased flexibility in their final products without potentially facing increased tax liability.
