New single-origin coffee hails from Chiapas region of Mexico

7-Eleven Inc., Plano, Texas, introduced its second single-origin coffee. Hailing from the Chiapas region of Mexico, the sustainable, premium coffee is Rainforest Alliance Certified and exclusively available at participating 7-Eleven stores. Last fall, the convenience store retailer introduced its first single-origin coffee, which is sourced from Nicaragua.
All iced teas, tea lemonades now sweetened with new liquid cane sugar

With the start of spring, Seattle-based Starbucks Coffee Co. announced new Teavana tea beverages: Teavana Shaken Iced White Tea and Teavana Lightly Sweet Chai Tea Latte. The teas, along with the regional roll-out of ready-to-drink (RTD) Teavana Craft Iced Teas, will be available at Starbucks stores in the Northeast United States, the company says.
Although it has been available in the U.S. beverage market for about 15 years, kombucha has gained broad consumer appeal within the past several years, according to New York-based Beverage Marketing Corporation’s (BMC) September 2016 report titled “U.S. Ready-To-Drink Tea through 2020.” As health and wellness has progressed from a niche interest to mass consumer appeal, this beverage segment has reaped the benefits.
As consumers’ shopping behaviors continue to evolve, the drug store channel has seen a boon within beverage aisles. Although the channel is struggling to grow, beverages could offer potential for the channel going forward as these stores expand their offerings, says Evan Hoffman, industry research analyst at Los Angeles-based IBISWorld.
