Husky Technologies creates HyCAP 4.0 tooling
New solution aims to maximize molding performance for beverage closures

As the beverage packaging industry evolves, manufacturers are facing increased pressure to provide lighter, more sustainable and regulation-compliant closures, without compromising on performance or cost efficiency, Husky Technologies explains.
Tooling plays a critical role in this environment, the company adds, and advanced tooling solutions are now expected to support ultra-lightweight closure designs, high-speed production and consistent quality, all while reducing downtime and operational costs.
To address these challenges, Husky introduced HyCAP 4.0 tooling. The new tooling solutions is engineered to maximize injection molding performance for beverage closures, the company says.
With the shift toward lightweighting and tethered closures, such demands require greater precision and tighter process control. The HyCAP 4.0 tooling is specifically designed to meet these evolving needs, allowing manufacturers to produce the following:
- Ultra-lightweight beverage closures with high precision
- Consistent part quality across high-speed cycles
- Accurate and repeatable molding of complex features
The new solutions enhance durability at the component level, helping manufacturers reduce maintenance requirements and increase overall system reliability, Husky adds. The tooling also is engineered to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) by optimizing the following key performance drivers:
- Industry-leading cycle times for faster production output
- Higher uptime through robust and stable tooling design
- Reduced maintenance frequency and simplified service requirements
Extended maintenance intervals and fewer wear-prone components allow for manufacturers to experience less downtime and more consistent production performance.
Husky’s new tooling solution also reduces total cost of ownership in closure production and enables the future of injection molded beverage closures, it shares. HyCAP 4.0 tooling delivers on both current and future demands in beverage closure production.
