There’s no question that consumers today love learning what’s new.

For instance in Circana’s 2022 New Product Pacesetters, an analysis of the top food and nonfood consumer packaged goods (CPG), a 2023 New Product Pacesetters Survey found that “nearly 17% of consumers consider themselves ‘early adopters’ who like to have the latest and greatest the market has to offer in food, beverages, health care, beauty/personal care, home care, pet care and electronics.”

The report notes that this is a 1.6-point increase in early adopters compared with 2021. Circana also notes that the 2022 Pacesetters accounted for $6.8 billion in aggregate year-one sales for food, beverage and nonfood products, which is up from the $6 billion in 2021 Pacesetter sales.
