Nielsen announced yesterday its twelve Breakthrough Innovation Winners for 2015. Among the twelve winners, four beverage products made the list this year: Monster Energy Co.’s Monster Energy Ultra, PepsiCo’s Mountain Dew Kickstart, MillerCoors’ Redd’s Apple Ale and Red Bull GmbH’s Red Bull Editions line.
This year, the Miami-based Spain-United States Chamber of Commerce is expanding its Savbor Food & Wine Exhibition to two days, because of popular demand from its inaugural event last year. The 2015 event will take place June 23-24 in Miami.

Skyy Vodka, a brand of San Francisco-based Campari America, is renewing its Toast To Marriage campaign in partnership with Freedom to Marry, a New York-based national organization dedicated to winning marriage nationwide. In the final months leading up to the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on the freedom to marry, Skyy Vodka is using its resources and voice to make a positive impact on causes important to its employees and consumers, the brand says.
In HBO’s “Game of Thrones” series, various characters have tried to battle their way to claim the Iron Throne using everything from brute force to social cunning. Within the spirits industry, the battle for the throne has been a bit more civilized, but, nonetheless, the alcohol category now has a new king.

This deal marks the company’s entry into the bourbon category of the North American whiskey sector.
