This spring, Angry Orchard, a brand of Boston-based The Boston Beer Co., is giving legal-drinking-age consumers a new and choice: Angry Orchard Rosé hard cider. Made with a blend of apples including rare red-flesh apples from France, Angry Orchard Rosé delivers the crisp and refreshing qualities of hard cider with a rosy color and floral aroma, the company says. 

Bold Rock Hard Cider announced the launch of a new seasonal hard cider. 

Strongbow Hard Ciders, a brand of White Plains, N.Y.-based Heineken USA, announced its newest flavor, Rosé Apple, a semi-dry hard cider with a touch of red fleshed apples. With a light, refreshing and fruity taste and 5 percent alcohol by volume, this newest addition to Strongbow’s line is reminiscent of a Rosé wine but with only 10 grams of sugars in an 11.2-ounce bottle, the company says. 

C Squared Ciders, an independent craft cidery, released Cousteau, the first hard cider in its high-end, barrel-aged Sailor Series. 

Angry Orchard, a brand of The Boston Beer Co., announced the nationwide release of Angry Orchard Pear, a hard fruit cider made with apples and pears. 

As farmers head into orchards and vineyards for the yearly harvest, many people are unaware of the similarities between cider apples and wine grapes. Both fruits thrive with ideal natural growing conditions and boast thousands of different flavorful varieties; hard apple cider was even served as an alternative to Champagne after World War II, according to White Plains, N.Y.-based Heineken USA.

Gumption Hard Cider, a brand of Vermont Hard Cider Co., introduced the newest product joining its Circus of Ciders: Citrus Freak.
