After moving its headquarters from Indianapolis to Hoffman Estates, Ill., last year, Sensient Flavors, a part of Sensient Technologies Corp., showcased its new facility to the trade media on Feb. 18.
Developed by a board-certified clinical neuroscientist, ON Beverages’ ON Powered Refreshment functional drinks feature a blend of ornithine, caffeine from tea leaf extract, and B vitamins for energy.
Sensient Flavors LLC, a unit of Sensient Technologies Corp., introduced a line of natural, true-to-type varietal cherry flavors suitable for food and beverage applications.
Earlier this year, Beverage Industry’s 2011 Product Development Survey forecasted a return to traditional flavors. Survey respondents indicated that traditional flavors, such as chocolate, vanilla and strawberry, remained popular choices, but rising stars such as superfruits were not as popular as lemon, lime and orange flavors. Now more than mid-way through the year, ingredient suppliers are reporting that industry flavor trends continue to include superfruits as well as several twists on traditional favorites.
Heaven Hill Distillery added a Whipped Cream flavor to its Burnett’s vodka line. The all-natural flavor line includes a total 24 flavors. Burnett’s Whipped Cream Flavored Vodka is available 50-ml., 750-ml., 1-liter and 1.75-liter bottles.
