High West A Midwinter Night’s Dram Act 14
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, High West Distillery announced the launch of its annual release: A Midwinter Night’s Dram Act 14.
Available nationwide in limited quantities, Act 14 expands the finishing program behind the cult-favorite annual release. Building upon a blend of straight rye whiskeys aged four to 10 years and traditionally finished in Ruby and Tawny Port casks, this year’s expression introduces rare Amontillado, Oloroso and PX Sherry barrels, adding new layers of richness, complexity and depth, the company notes.
Non-chill filtered to preserve texture and character, Act 14 opens with notes of wild strawberry, blackberry preserves and fig, followed by blood orange, cherry fruit leather, cinnamon-dusted plum crumble and apricot scone on the palate, culminating in a finish reminiscent of a jam thumbprint cookie and spiced chai, it says.
Packaged in a 750-ml bottle, High West A Midwinter Night's Dram is available nationwide, while supplies last, at the High West General Stores and at the company's website.
