Bärenjäger Honey Liqueur introduced distinctive new packaging for core expressions Honey Liqueur and Honey Bourbon, celebrating more than 225 years of the brand’s heritage and craftsmanship. In the U.S., new packaging will roll out in July.
Crafted from an 18th century German recipe and made with real honey ― 225 grams in each bottle ― Bärenjäger is a smooth, rich and naturally sweet honey liqueur.
Designed by renowned branding agency Stranger & Stranger, the new Bärenjäger bottle won Gold at the 2024 Design & Packaging Masters. The following are notable packaging features on the bottle:
• A handcrafted wooden beehive cork that nods to old world tradition and artisanal quality
• An eye-catching, bespoke beehive inspired glass bottle
• A striking, textured modernized label with iconic bear branding
Produced by Schwarze und Schlichte GmbH & Co. KG in Oelde, Germany, Bärenjäger Honey Liqueur is made from neutral grain spirit and real honey.
Bärenjäger Honey Liqueur’s tasting notes feature a rich, fortified honey taste with hints of wildflowers, lemon zest, Alpine flowers, warm oak and a hint of spice, the company says, and finishes with lingering honey notes.
Bärenjäger Honey Bourbon blends the authentic sweetness of real honey with smooth bourbon, creating a rich and balanced whiskey liqueur where German craftsmanship meets American spirit, the company says. Its tasting notes feature rich and velvety with a balanced sweetness. Natural honey flavors coat the palate, followed by soft notes of vanilla bean and dried fruit, the company says.
New bottles will begin to arrive on shelf this July. Both expressions are bottled at 35% ABV (70 proof) with a suggested retail price of $34.99 for a 750-ml bottle.
