Spindrift Beverage Co. Inc., Newton, Mass., announced the newest addition to its product portfolio: Spindrift SODA. Launching with five flavors — Concord Freeze, Ginger Ale, Orange Cream Float, Shirley Temple and Strawberry Shortcake ― every flavor contains 20% not-from-concentrate juice.

“The origin of Spindrift SODA came from a simple question: could we take our way of making real ingredient beverages — which we have mastered over the last 15 years — and take it to its most extreme?” said Bill Creelman, founder of Spindrift Beverage Co., in a statement. “The answer is ‘yes,’ and it’s delicious. Spindrift SODA is our most ambitious product to date. There’s nearly three-quarters of an orange in every can of Orange Cream Float. For the first time, Drifters can enjoy bold soda flavor without compromising on ingredients. I’m incredibly proud of the work we put into our new soda, and frankly, I’m blown away by the results.”

Spindrift is on a mission to redefine the soda experience. With fewer than 8 grams of naturally occurring sugar from fruit, Spindrift SODA upholds the quality and taste standards for which Spindrift is already known, the company says. 

“People who drink Spindrift expect the best, and we wouldn’t have it any other way,” said Jon Silverman, senior vice president of innovation, in a statement. “We knew that Spindrift making a soda would mean challenging the very foundation of the category. While other sodas rely on added sugar, artificial sweeteners, flavoring systems, or claims around gut health, we chose the simpler, more authentic path. Our soda gets its delicious taste the way nature intended: from real squeezed fruit. No tricks, no shortcuts, just all the goodness.”

Spindrift SODA currently is available on the company’s website and Amazon and will be at select retailers later this year. Prices and availability may vary. A portion of all sales will support regenerative agriculture through donating to Kiss The Ground, a nonprofit that promotes regeneration and healthy soil as a viable solution for the wellness, water, and climate crises.
