True Citrus launches True Lemon Kids clean-label drink mixes

Launch coincides with Walmart gift card giveaway promotion

True Lemon Kids
December 3, 2020

Baltimore-based True Citrus launched True Lemon Kids, a low-sugar, clean-label powdered drink mix designed for children.

The new drink mix contains no artificial sweeteners, flavors or preservatives; uses colors from natural sources such as fruits and vegetables; offers 25 percent of the daily servings of vitamins A, C, and E; and is Non-GMO, gluten free and sodium free, the company says.

Sweetened with stevia and 2 grams of sugar in each 8-ounce serving, True Lemon Kids has 10 calories in each serving.

"We believe hydration can be delicious without a lot of sugar," said Robert Cuddihy, chief executive officer of True Citrus, in a statement. "Families have so many beverage options for their children, but few of them are low sugar or naturally sweetened. Hydration is a foundation of a healthy, happy lifestyle. Thanks to simpler, Non-GMO ingredients and great tasting flavors, we think True Lemon Kids is an easy win parents can feel good about."

Available in Pink Lemonade, Fruit Punch and Blue Raspberry flavors, True Lemon Kids products are available nationwide at Walmart and at TrueLemon.com.

"It's hard being a parent these days," said Heidi C. Carney, executive vice president of marketing for True Citrus. "We're all dealing with so much due to COVID-19 and there's a lot of competing advice about what's good for our kids. True Lemon Kids can make a small part of the day easier. While plain water is the best beverage kids can drink, this is a great alternative to juice or soda — and for children who don't like drinking plain water. It's a delicious way to boost hydration."

To coincide with the launch, True Citrus and Walmart have partnered for a Gift Card Giveaway sweepstakes. From Dec. 4 to 18, consumers can share a photo of them enjoying True Lemon Kids to be entered to win one of five $250 Walmart gift cards as well as a sample of True Lemon Kids products.

To enter, visit www.truelemon.com/pages/true-lemon-kids-walmart-giveaway

To qualify, consumers should upload or share a photo on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter using the hashtags #TRUELEMONKIDS and #THEPERFECTBALANCE

  • Facebook: @TheTrueLemon
  • Instagram: @TrueLemon
  • Twitter: @TrueLemon

Among the five total winners, one will be randomly selected each day starting Dec. 14 through Dec. 18 and will be notified by email.
