At the K 2019 tradeshow in Dusseldorf, Germany, Agr International will unveil its new Pilot Vision+ system designed to meet the inspection challenges of PET bottles made with higher percentages of rPET. The high-precision device measures laboratory thickness and provides dimensional measurements for plastic containers. Designed to streamline laboratory measurement operations, the blowmolder vision system provides operators with the ability to perform multiple measurements on a wide range of plastic containers and preforms with unmatched accuracy, repeatability and operational throughput, the company says. The all-in-one measurement system incorporates the latest optical gauging and thickness measurement technology in combination with automation to simplify container measurement operations while maximizing testing throughput, it adds. The system also features advanced job setup tools to minimize time required for job creations; a large screen image display with an ability to expand images for close analysis; comprehensive data capture/reporting; and Industry 4.0 communications. Designed to work in conjunction with today’s high-speed reheat stretch blowmolding equipment, the Pilot Vision+ system offers a modular approach to defect detection that works within the blowmolder. The open architecture of this system allows for simultaneous management of as many as six cameras in multiple locations. For a total bottle management system, Pilot Vision+ can be combined with Process Pilot, an advanced thin-wall measurement system that is ideally suited for the production of ultralight bottles, the company says.
