Friends Fun Wine, a brand of Aventura, Fla.-based Friends Beverage Group, launched a new commercial just in time for National Coffee Day on Sept. 29 to promote its soon-to-be released coffee-wine beverages. The 30-second spot invites consumers to give a new meaning to breakfast in bed by adding a romantic element to the occasion by serving the coffee-wine drinks with the meal.

In November, Friends Fun Wine plans to release two beverages — Cabernet Coffee Espresso and Chardonnay Coffee Cappuccino — which blend popular coffee drinks with popular wine varietals. Cabernet Coffee Espresso features the flavor of fresh cabernet grapes, espresso coffee and a hint of chocolate, while

Chardonnay Coffee Cappuccino features Chardonnay grapes with vanilla cappuccino coffee and smooth hints of chocolate, the company says. Both new flavors will be sold in Friends Fun Wine’s 250-mL slim cans, which contain two servings in each can and 6 percent alcohol by volume.

“As creators of the Fun Wine category, the addition of Cabernet Coffee Espresso and Chardonnay Coffee Cappuccino to our collection strongly aligns with our mission to deliver a fun drinking experience,” said Joe Peleg, chief executive officer of Friends Fun Wine, in a statement. “We are excited to share that experience through the new commercial spot, encouraging the idea to change breakfast in bed as we know it [by making] it more fun and sexy [and] hopefully, [making] it last longer.”

Friends Fun Wine’s coffee and wine beverages add to the brand’s collection of low-alcohol, low-calorie flavored wines, which currently are available in more than 15 states at retailers such as Walmart, 7-Eleven and Walgreens, as well as at gas stations, restaurants, hotels and bars and on Spirit Airlines.
