Snapple, a brand of Dr Pepper Snapple Group (DPS), Plano, Texas, will offer two teas created by the finalists of television’s “The Celebrity Apprentice,” musician Bret Michaels and actress Holly Robinson Peete. Michaels’ Diet Snapple Trop-a-Rocka Tea and Peete’s Snapple Compassionberry Tea are available nationwide for a limited time.
The teas were created as part of a task for the television show “Celebrity Apprentice,” which features celebrities competing in tasks designed by entrepreneur Donald Trump. Michaels and Peete, the show’s finalists, worked with the Snapple research and development team to develop a new Snapple tea, design the label, name the product and create a marketing plan.
“We’re always looking for ways to make The Best Stuff on Earth even better and continue a legacy of unique flavor combinations,” said Andrew Springate, senior vice president of marketing for DPS, in a statement. “Our partnership with ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ finalists delivered two great-tasting teas while continuing to support two important causes.”
Michaels, a Type 1 diabetic, developed Diet Snapple Trop-a-Rocka Tea, which is a blend of green and black tea with pear, cinnamon and mango flavors. Sales of the flavor will raise money for the American Diabetes Association.
Peete’s passion fruit and strawberry green and black tea, called Compassionberry Tea, will benefit the HollyRod Foundation. The foundation was started in honor of Peete’s father and helps families in the autism community access affordable treatment and care.
In addition, Snapple donated $250,000 to both the American Diabetes Association and the HollyRod Foundation.
