Organic industry addresses supply chain challenges

The U.S. organic industry posted new records in 2015 with total organic product sales hitting a new benchmark of $43.3 billion, up 11 percent from the previous year's record level and far outstripping the overall food market's growth rate of 3 percent, according to the Washington, D.C.-based Organic Trade Association's (OTA) 2016 Organic Industry Survey.

Available this summer at Whole Food Markets nationwide, Honest Tea, an independent operating unit of The Coca-Cola Co., is offering Honest Ginger Lemonade.
The Coca-Cola Co., Atlanta, announced that Olympic athlete and swimmer Missy Franklin will join its Minute Maid brand’s Doin’ Good campaign, which debuted in April 2015.
Product hits market in conjunction with new ‘Ghostbusters’ movie

Fans of the “Ghostbusters” franchise have one more reason to celebrate this summer as Atlanta-based The Coca-Cola Co.’s Hi-C brand announced release of Hi-C Ecto Cooler, a juice drink for those nostalgic for the 1980s and 1990s, the company says. Hi-C Ecto Cooler will be available for a limited time starting May 30. Its resurgence comes after a 15-year hiatus, as “Ghostbusters” hits theaters July 15.
With more than 77,000 attendees, the 36th annual Natural Products Expo West and Engredea experienced another record-setting year with 6.9 percent growth. Produced by New Hope Network, Boulder, Colo., the 2016 Expo West brought together more than 3,000 exhibiting companies, including more than 600 first-time exhibitors. The show took place March 9-13 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.
