Cuervo Tequila launching new canned cocktails
New line available in 4 varieties

Cuervo announced the launch of new Cuervo Canned Cocktails. Featuring four flavors, the cocktails are available in eight-can variety packs and single-flavor four-packs.
With a 5.9% ABV, the tequila canned cocktails are available in the following varieties:
• Classic Margarita: A citrus-forward burst of lime, with a hint of fizz and a bright, tart finish.
• Paloma: A light, bubbly rush of crisp grapefruit, with sweet hints of lime and a tangy finish.
• Strawberry Margarita: A bold, juicy wave of ripe strawberry, with hints of zesty lime and a tangy berry finish.
• Pink Lemonade: A bright, floral blend of raspberries, strawberries and orange, with a sweet lemon peel finish.
Spirit-based RTDs are up 30% in the past year, the company says, citing Nielsen data for the 52 weeks ending April 18. Cuervo Canned Cocktails’ core range has shown more than three times the growth rate of the total RTD category and more than 15 times the growth rate of legacy RTD brands (i.e. those affiliated with established spirits parent brands), the company adds, citing Nielsen data for the four weeks ending May 23.
Today’s consumers also want something more sessionable, with 5-5.9% RTDs holding the second largest market share, based on Nielsen data for the 52 weeks ending April 18.
“Cuervo tequila is synonymous with the summer season, and with Cuervo Canned Cocktails we’re making it even easier for people to bring the party wherever their summer takes them. Margaritas are America’s favorite cocktail and Cuervo has been part of this enduring recipe since the Margarita was created back in the 1930s,” said Lander Otegui, executive vice president of marketing and innovation at Proximo Spirits, citing Nielsen insights and Legacy of Cuervo. “People are reaching for RTDs now more than ever, so with the new lower-ABV Cuervo Canned Cocktails, we’ve reimagined those same beloved flavors that are already part of our DNA, in a convenient, on-the-go format that makes it easy to sip your favorite cocktails all season long.”
The Cuervo Canned Cocktails are available in an eight-can variety pack for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $18.99, single-flavor four-packs with a SRP of $9.99 and individual cans with a SRP of $2.99. All feature a bold new design and packaging featuring a pop of color that is engineered to stand out on both retail shelves, the company says.
Cuervo Canned Cocktails are available at retailers nationwide including (but not limited to) Walmart, Kroger, 7-Eleven, Total Wine and select CVS locations, or skip the trip entirely with fast, same-day delivery via DoorDash, Instacart and Uber Eats.
