EIGHT Elite Light Beer launches slim can

By Staff Beverage Industry
Eight Elite Light Beer
June 6, 2025

EIGHT Elite Light Beer, the super-premium light beer founded by Pro Football Hall of Famer Troy Aikman, announced the launch of its new slim can, offering a refined packaging update that aligns with the brand’s commitment to quality, transparency and clean living.

Available now, the new slim can offers a convenient, aesthetic format ideal for a variety of social occasions just in time for summer, the company says. This packaging innovation is a natural extension of the brand’s commitment to quality and marks the next step in EIGHT’s growth as it continues penetrating markets across Texas and Oklahoma, it adds.

“The launch of our slim can comes at the perfect time- just ahead of summer gatherings where convenience and style matter,” said David Reny, CEO of EIGHT Brewing Co., in a statement “Whether you’re at the lake, the golf course, or a backyard cookout, the slim can is designed to go where our drinkers go. It’s a sleek, elevated package for a beer that doesn't cut corners.”

In addition to this new look, the packaging spotlights that EIGHT is additive free, low calorie, low carb, and simple ingredients with this messaging front and center on the packaging.

Developed with just three ingredients — water, malt and hops — and free from additives, sweeteners, and preservatives, EIGHT continues to stand apart in the light beer category. The light beer contains 90 calories, 2.6 grams of carbohydrates and a 4% ABV.

Aikman was actively involved in the development of EIGHT to shape and perfect a product that meets the needs of today's more informed, health-conscious adult consumer.

“We designed EIGHT to deliver what matters ― real ingredients, great taste and nothing unnecessary. It’s a light beer that works as hard as the people who drink it,” Aikman said in a statement. “The new slim can adds to that quality, and is a badge of pride for those who expect more.”

The new slim can is available now wherever consumers can find EIGHT. EIGHT is pairing the launch of the slim can with a new ad campaign, set to launch mid-June. The campaign will feature Aikman and the new slim can to showcase the honesty and quality of EIGHT beer.
