Share a Coke on Freestyle turns to artificial intelligence

Experience available through June 2 at participating locations

By Staff Beverage Industry
Share A Coke Freestyle
April 2, 2025

Coca-Cola Freestyle is putting a new spin on the iconic Share a Coke experience by turning consumers’ Freestyle mix into a more personalized, shareable moment.

Share a Coke on Freestyle uses proprietary artificial intelligence (AI)-powered recipe technology to pour a bespoke drink in real-time, based on inputs that reflect connection. And just like the bottles and cans seen on store shelves, can add a friend’s name or favorite nickname to the special sip before consumers can text them their one-of-a-kind mix.

To create a mix, consumers can do the following:

  • Scan & Connect: Open your smartphone’s camera and scan the Share a Coke QR code on the Freestyle touchscreen to instantly connect –– no app or log-in needed.
  • Create Your Mix: Select a name from 1,000-plus options or a fun nickname to appear on your digital cup. Decorate it with stickers that best describe them, from “funny” and “kind” to “creative” and “cute.”
  • Pour Your One-of-a-Kind Drink: Press “Generate Mix” and let Freestyle’s AI-powered recipe generator create a unique, one-of-one drink mix just for you and your friend.
  • Sip and Share the Magic: Consumers can pour it fresh to taste your creation, or text the mix to a friend so they can redeem their mix and sip along with you at their closest Freestyle location.

To redeem a mix, consumer can do one of the two options:

Option 1: Scan and Pour

  • Click the link in a SMS to automatically open Share a Coke.
  • Scan the Share a Coke QR code on the Freestyle touchscreen.
  • The mix will appear instantly ––  just press the pour button on the phone and Freestyle will dispense the one-of-a-kind drink.

Option 2: Enter a Code

  • Scan the Share a Coke QR code on any Freestyle dispenser.
  • Tap “Enter Code” and type the code you received via SMS.
  • The custom recipe is generated by AI –– hit pour and enjoy.

Share a Coke on Freestyle will be available at participating restaurants, movie theaters and convenience stores from April 1 to June 2, at each location’s standard fountain drink price (pricing may vary).
