Laird & Co., America’s oldest distiller, announced the introduction of the Laird’s American Mule, a ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail made with their world-famous Apple Brandy.

George Washington is said have wrote to the Laird family requesting the recipe for Laird’s Apple Brandy, the company says.

“The base spirit is Laird’s Apple Brandy, made from fresh Virginia grown apples, not vodka. We are Americanizing the Moscow Mule cocktail,” said Gerard Laird-Dunn, the 10th generation Laird Family member, in a statement. “Our Apple Brandy ‘kicks’ the mule cocktail up several levels from neutral vodka.”

Available in a four-pack of 355-ml cans with a suggested retail price of $14.99, Laird’s American Mule can be purchased nationwide at select retailers and online on Drizly, Gopuff and Curiada.
