JuneShine, Stone Brewing collaborate for new craft malt beverage

StoneShine combines Stone’s hops, fruits with JuneShine’s hard kombucha formulation

StoneSHine Hard Kombucha Beer
August 31, 2020

JuneShine and Stone Brewing, both San Diego based, have joined forces to create StoneShine: a limited-edition hard kombucha flavor. With a 6 percent alcohol by volume, StoneShine mixes Stone’s legendary hops and Masumoto Farm’s famed stone fruits into JuneShine’s signature hard kombucha formulation, the companies say. Like JuneShine’s original flavors, StoneShine is organic, gluten free, non-GMO, and contains antioxidants, vitamins and probiotics.

Embodying Southern California culture in a can, StoneShine is a result of two San Diego-founded brewers who joined together to create a buzzy beverage. As a further commitment to the community that has supported JuneShine and Stone Brewing from the beginning, 5 percent of sales from StoneShine will go to U.S. Bartenders Guild National Charity Foundation, advancing the lifelong stability and wellbeing of service industry professionals through education and charitable activities, the companies says.

“Stone has inspired us from day 1 with their unwavering dedication to brewing the best craft beer. So much of our dedication to quality comes from their leadership in our backyard in San Diego.” said Greg Serrao, chief executive officer and co-founder of Juneshine, in a statement. “We want to break down the preconceived conceptions of what people think hard kombucha is with this collab [sic], and show people that JuneShine is truly a craft brew and not another FMB.”

Dan Lamb, Stone Brewing chief commercial officer added: “We love that JuneShine challenges convention in the same way Stone has. This collaboration demonstrates how similar hard kombucha and craft beer can be, and offers a really unique flavor profile that can’t be found in craft beer collaborations alone. Stone Distributing Co. proudly distributes JuneShine kombucha because we respect their honest approach and we’re thrilled that they chose Stone to cross genres with them.”

Priced at $5.99 for a single serve 16-ounce can, StoneShine will be available in select retail locations in 25 states across the country for a limited time as well as online via direct-to-consumer delivery. Consumers can visit JuneShine’s Store Locator to find where StoneShine is available in their city.
