Isuzu Commercial Truck of America Inc. unveiled new road-ready bodies for select Isuzu N-Series trucks. Built by Knapheide, the three designs are the Knapheide KUVcc, an enclosed utility body featuring durability and practicality with cab-chassis compatibility in an 11-foot utility body available on 109-inch wheelbase Isuzu NPR and NRP-HD gasoline-powered trucks; the 11-foot Knapheide dump body is available on 109-inch wheelbase Isuzu N-Series standard-cab trucks with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 14,500 pounds or more; and the 11-foot Knapheide landscaper body for Isuzu N-Series standard cab models with 109- and 132.5-inch wheelbases with GVWRs of 14,500 pounds or more. The landscaper also will be available for 150- and 176-inch wheelbase N-Series crew-cab models with 14,500-pound GVWR or more. The KUVcc comes standard with a white interior and exterior, a 20-gauge galvannealed steel body, eight exterior compartments with adjustable shelving, two conduit/pipe doors and interior dome lights and a 9-inch-by-30-inch glass window in the front bulkhead that aligns with the rear window of the cab. Standard features on the dump body include cross-memberless construction with fully boxed long sills constructed of seven-gauge hot-rolled, commercial-quality steel that runs the entire length of the floor to help prevent debris collecting, an electrodeposition prime-paint system and water-based undercoating for superior corrosion resistance, a Class 5 hitch, and an electric hoist powered by a 12-volt pump with power-up and power-down capabilities. The landscaper body features three doors for versatility in loading and dumping, a 50-inch wide curbside opening for pallets, with a side access door that can be locked in the open position; 270 degree swing-out rear gates equipped with heavy-duty hinges that also can be lockable in the open position; and removable 40-inch-tall side panels constructed of 14-gauge steel and reinforced by 13-gauge steel stakes.
