Rutherford Wine Co. announced the launch of Four Virtues Bourbon Barrel Zinfandel 2016. Packaged in a contemporary, whiskey-inspired bottle, the bold Zinfandel combines fruit from the Lodi appellation with the flavor from Bourbon barrel aging, the company says. At 16.8 percent alcohol by volume, the wine is aged in French and American oak barrels before being finished in Bourbon whiskey barrels, it says. Four Virtues features flavors and aromas of bright raspberry, cherry and juicy blackberry with hints of caramel, vanilla and toasty oak, it adds. A 750-ml bottle of Four Virtues has a suggested retail price of $25 nationwide.
