Provenance Vineyards debuted an all-new wine: Carneros Chardonnay. Produced from some of the region’s highly regarded wine grape growers, Carneros Chardonnay mainly is sourced from Sangiacomo and Winery Lake vineyards, the company states. For this particular version, the fruit was harvested into small bins and rushed to the winery for processing. After gentle processing, the wine was barrel fermented in small oak barrels to add layers of flavor, then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, the company adds. This 2016 vintage wine offers scents of lemon, honeysuckle, and jasmine, along with flavors of white peach and green pear. Consumers can purchase Carneros Chardonnay, which features a 14.5 percent alcohol by volume content, for a suggested retail price of $35 for a 750-ml bottle.
