Heineken USA launched limited-edition Newcastle Cabbie Black Ale, which features notes of various fruits, chocolate and coffee, the company says. Available through March, the ale contains 4.2 percent alcohol by volume and 25 International Bittering Units. It is priced comparably to Newcastle Brown Ale and available in 6- and 12-packs of 12-ounce bottles. The beer also teamed up with Taxi Magic to help consumers get home safely. In cities where Taxi Magic rides are available, Newcastle Cabbie point-of-sale displays will feature a promotional code that rewards consumers with a $5 credit toward a cab fare booked through the Taxi Magic app. Where Taxi Magic ride booking isn’t available yet, consumers can text to enter for the chance to win free cab rides home for a year.
