Century Foods International, Sparta, Wis., a contract manufacturer of dairy proteins, nutritional products and powder blends, has been officially registered by the National Sanitation Foundation for complying with Good Manufacturing Practices. NSF GMPs are used to evaluate manufacturing processes and documentation for claimed identity, strength, composition, quality and purity, and certification will allow customers to use the NSF Certification Mark on product labels.
Premium Ingredients Group, Carol Stream, Ill., has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with the NutraSweet Co., Chicago, to sell aspartame in the United States and Canada.
Correction: October’s R&D Insider incorrectly stated that Ajinomoto’s Amino Vital Endurance is available in individually portioned pouches. The product is only available in canister form, retailing for $39.99, and only in a Lemon flavor.
Jens Bigum was recently selected as chairman of Chr. Hansen. In addition to his position at Chr. Hansen, Bigum also serves as chairman of Denmark's Aarhus University.
