DSM, the Netherlands, has
introduced PeptoPro, a sports drink with peptides, across Europe, with Inge
de Bruijn, the Dutch Olympian, as the new 'face' of PeptoPro. The company
has future plans to distribute the drink in the United States, Germany, the
United Kingdom, Japan and Thailand.
FMC BioPolymer, a division
of FMC Corp.,
Philadelphia, recently announced it will implement an average price
increase of 7 to 8 percent for selected food-grade carrageenan products.
These increases apply to pricing worldwide and will take effect on Dec.
1, 2004, or as contracts allow.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in
Washington, D.C., recently released the first-ever Surgeon General’s
Report on Bone Health and Osteoporosis.
Givaudan, the
Switzerland-based flavors and fragrance supplier, recently completed
construction of a 61,000-square-foot Culinary Center adjacent to it's North
American headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. The new facility will house
Givaudan's North American savory and foodservice business units, as well as
finance and IS/IT functions.
Chr. Hansen, Milwaukee,
Wis., has opened a new facility in Argentina. The new 2,000-square-meter
facility comprises pilot plants and application labs for meat &
prepared foods, food & beverages, and dairy.
James H. Dunsdon was named
chief operating officer at International
Flavors & Fragrances Inc., New York City.
In his new role, he will have global responsibility for IFF’s sales,
business development, regional management and operations.
Dave Thomas has joined LycoRed Natural Products, a
division of The LycoRed Group based in Beer Sheva, Israel, as the North American director of
marketing and business development for the food and beverage division.
Additionally, Scott M. Larkin has been promoted to vice president of sales and marketing
for North America. Larkin is based in Evergereen, Colo.
Denis Blais has been
promoted to senior account manager at David
Michael & Co., Philadelphia, Pa. He is
responsible for sales in eastern Canada. Additionally, Jennifer Jacobs has been promoted to
senior account manager. She is responsible for sales in Texas, Louisiana,
Oklahoma, Arkansas, Nebraska, Mississippi and Kansas.
