The industry has seen consumers suggest ingredients, flavors, brand names and more for new products; however, Columbia Crest is taking crowdsourcing into new territory — the vineyard, to be specific.
Following the launch of its ArKay alcohol-free whiskey in 2011, ArKay Distributing Inc. recently added 15 new alcohol-free liquor-flavored beverages to the platform.

As the economy continues to expand, premium and super-premium distilled spirits are coming back stronger than ever, according to the Beverage Information & Insights Group’s “2014 Liquor Handbook.” The Norwalk, Conn.-based company reports that this premiumization trend means that consumers are drinking less but drinking “better,” which resulted in slower case sales growth of 2.2 percent, reaching 210 million 9-liter cases in 2013.
At picnics and other outdoor events during the summer and early fall, consumers have to watch out for bees that might crawl into their unattended beverage cans.
