PLT Health Solutions Inc. and innovation partner Nektium Pharma announced the completion of a new clinical study on its Zynamite S ingredient. This study showed a broad range of energy and performance benefits, including faster mental processing speed, improvements in complex task handling, improvements in mental flexibility, enhanced mood, and reduced fatigue. The study showed that a single 100 mg dose of Zynamite S rapidly provided these benefits, some as soon as 30 minutes after supplementation. Zynamite is a patented, proprietary extract of Mangifera indica leaves, standardized to greater than or equal to 60% mangiferin. Zynamite S is a next-generation water-soluble formulation of award-winning Zynamite that allows formulators to confidently include the ingredient in beverages and other delivery systems where taste and solubility are issues. According to Joe Weiss, global head of brand management for PLT Health Solutions, this second clinical study on Zynamite S in a year confirms and builds upon previous findings. “This newest study of Zynamite S builds upon Nektium's previous research demonstrating efficacy in what scientists agree are the core components of mental energy: improved cognitive performance, cognitive adaptability, enhanced mood and reduced fatigue. These results are shown to occur within minutes to hours,” he said. “Zynamite S has the potential to redefine what we mean by mental energy in consumer products. The fact that Zynamite S is water-soluble makes the ingredient even more exciting because it can be formulated into delivery systems that represent significant growth areas in supplement and functional products markets.”

Synergy Flavors Inc., a member of the Irish-based Carbery Group, has announced the acquisition of Solutaste, a flavors and ingredients manufacturer and distribution company based in São Paulo, Brazil. This is Synergy’s second acquisition in Brazil, further expanding its footprint in the food and beverage sector in South America. Combined, Synergy and Carbery Group have facilities in eight locations globally including Ireland, the United States, the U.K., Brazil, Italy, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia and produce flavors, dairy and nutritional ingredients for more than 50 markets globally. Paulo Reis, general manager of Synergy Flavours Brazil, said: “Solutaste is a company that shares with us a passion for quality, creativity, and sensory excellence. With this partnership, we are excited to strengthen our presence in Brazil, expand our portfolio of solutions, and gain even more agility to serve our customers and partners. We are excited to welcome the members of the Solutaste team into our wider organization. With our new facility also due to complete in 2026, we look forward to more success ahead.” Commenting on the deal, Carbery CEO Jason Hawkins said: “Carbery has had a presence in Brazil since 2007, with a further acquisition in 2012. The rapid growth of that business and strength of the market has driven continued investment and expansion. We have an outstanding team in place to deliver on this potential, and we are excited to expand our flavor and ingredients footprint in Brazil and in the wider South American region.”

Kyowa Hakko Bio Co. Ltd (Kyowa Hakko Bio) announced the integration of the former German affiliate into its operations, marking a major milestone in the company’s transformation. As part of this transition, Kyowa Hakko Bio Italia (KHIT) is now positioned as Kyowa’s central commercial hub for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Building on a strong legacy in Italy, Southern Europe, and select Middle Eastern markets, the new KHIT assumes a broader regional mandate with a sharpened focus on advancing Kyowa’s Health Science growth strategy, particularly in the Cognizin Citicoline segment within the health science and dietary supplement industries. To lead this next chapter, Mr. Nicola Urso has been appointed president of KHIT. A seasoned executive with nearly 25 years of experience within the organization, he has played a pivotal role in guiding the company through a variety of business challenges over the years, the company says. Known for his strategic vision and operational acumen, Urso will spearhead KHIT’s strategic priorities: expanding into key markets, accelerating digital transformation, and continuing to invest in top talent to build the next generation of scientific and commercial leaders. Under his leadership, KHIT will adopt a simplified, more agile operating model designed to accelerate decision-making and deepen customer impact across the region. “This evolution marks a new chapter in our European journey,” Urso stated. “With a more agile structure and a clear regional remit, KHIT is poised to deliver greater scientific value to customers across EMEA, faster and more effectively than ever before.”
