Sonoma Cider added the fourth flavor to its core lineup — The Washboard. Previously a limited-run series, the success of its initial launch encouraged the company to add the product to its year-round lineup. The Washboard features the flavor of Indian sarsaparilla blended with the juice from organic apples and a hint of vanilla, the company says. The Washboard is reminiscent of homemade root beer with a twist, it adds. The Washboard contains 9 grams of sugar per 12-ounce serving, and replacing the sweetness are herbaceous and earthy notes, followed by a clean, refreshing, creamy and not-too-sweet finish. The 5.5 percent alcohol-by-volume hard cider is available in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles that retail for $9.99, 5.2 gallon kegs and 15.5 gallon kegs.
