Viejo Indecente released Mezcal Viejo Indecente in the U.S. market. It offers a handcrafted, agave-forward spirit without the typical smoky notes found in other mezcals, the company says. Mezcal Viejo Indecente Espadín begins with 100-percent Espadín agave that is steamed in a clay oven, distilled twice in a pot still, and carefully filled and bottled by hand. In lieu of the smoky notes imparted from wood-fueled pits, Mezcal Viejo Indecente utilizes an energy-efficient, steam cooking process – a traditional process commonly seen in Mexico’s northern states – which preserves the full flavor of the agave plant, allowing the naturally sweet notes of the agave to dominate the flavor profile, it adds. Mezcal Viejo Indecente Espadín has a suggested retail price of $59.99 for 750-ml bottle and is available in California, Florida and New York, and online.
