The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, a retailer based in Los Angeles, has joined forces with Feeding America to kick off a fall campaign to raise funds for food banks around the country. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will work with the hunger-relief charity to donate a portion of funds raised at participating cafés this season to local food banks.

From Sept. 4 to Nov. 25, coffee and tea drinkers can support the cause through select purchases at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf locations throughout the United States. The specialty coffee and tea retailers will donate $1 from the sale of each bag of the limited-release Harvest Blend coffee, which is a dark and distinctive full-bodied coffee blend made with Costa Rican, Columbian and Brazilian beans to create a unique semi-sweet cocoa aroma, soft fruity flavor and smooth finish, the company says. Twelve-ounce whole-bean bags retail for approximately $11.95 each.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf also will donate $1 for each Feeding America gift card purchased at participating locations. These gift cards also can be redeemed at any The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf location.

“We’re honored to work with Feeding America to support their fight to end hunger across the country,” said Mel Elias, president and chief executive officer of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, in a statement. “For every bag of Harvest Blend coffee and gift card sold, Feeding America will be able to provide eight meals to people in need. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to make a substantial impact in the communities that we serve.”

Throughout the campaign, participating locations will work closely with Feeding America to ensure that the proceeds from each particular store will go directly to a food bank located near that store.
