Anniversary malt
Briess Malt & Ingredients Co. will release a special new malt for craft breweries in honor of the company’s 130th anniversary. Briess Anniversary Malt is a base malt with a distinctively different flavor profile than standard base malts, and although it can be used to brew any beer style, is designed specifically for lager beers. 100-calorie sweetener
Danisco Sweeteners has developed sweeteners for reduced-calorie beverages. Litesse polydextrose and Lactitol have reduced calories, fat and sugar. Both can help in formulations for 100 calorie or less portions. Litesse is a specialty carbohydrate with a wide range of physiological and functional benefits. Lactitol is a versatile reduced-calorie sweetener derived from milk sugar. Botanical benefits
Mannatech Inc. announces the introduction of PhytoMatrix, the first nutrition supplement containing fully standardized and completely plant-based vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals. Coffee, exotic flavors
Robertet Flavors introduces new coffee flavors, including cappuccino, coffee, espresso, vanilla latte and coffee with cream. The flavors are available in natural, liquid and water-soluble formulations for a variety of applications, including beverages, dairy and syrups. In addition, the company also launched the Taste of Southeast Asia line of exotic tropical fruit flavors. Sodium reducer
Wixon Inc. introduces a new salt substitute, KCLean Salt, which can cut the sodium content of regular table salt in half without losing the taste, texture, functionality or mouthfeel.
