Cargill, Minneapolis, has acquired Dow Jones Chemical Co.’s interest in Cargill Dow LLC, the joint venture formed in 1997 to commercialize polylactic acid biopolymers, a polymer derrived from natual plant sugars. Product lines include NatureWorks PLA and Ingeo fibers.
International Dispensing Corp., Hanover, Md., a developer and manufacturer of dispensing
solutions has formed International Dispensing
China as a result of an alliance between
International Dispensing and Sino Link, based in Hong Kong. The agreement includes ventures in
plastic, agriculture, metal distribution and textiles throughout China.
Hammer Lithograph,
Rochester, N.Y., has received the Merit Award for management excellence in
the National Association for Printing Leadership’s 2004 Management
Plus Awards program. Hammer was chosen for its financial record, emphasis
on employee participation in management, and quality printing.
Alcoa Closure Systems International, Indianapolis, has launched VinTegra, a new closure system for
wine bottles as an alternative to corks and synthetic stoppers. The
closures look like decorative decanter stoppers and are recyclable.

has received a 2004 Golden Link Award for outstanding service as a top
supplier of Lucent Technologies’ Supply Chain Networks organization.
The Golden Link Award acknowledges suppliers who provide superior service
in key areas, including delivery, technology, value, quality and overall
relationship.
