Juice market seeks to combat concerns about sugar content

Although concerns about the sugar content within products in the juice and juice drink category have challenged the market, juice smoothies and their association as a healthy beverage option have helped the category mitigate contraction.
Smartfruit LLC now offers its self-titled line of smoothie mixes that are made with 100 percent fruit and contain no added sugar, preservatives or artificial colors.

New global products tracked with an "organic" claim have risen from 6.3 percent in the first half of 2013 to 9.5 percent in the first half of 2015, the market research firm says.
