Casa Modelo, a brand of Victor, N.Y.-based Constellation Brands Inc., announced the launch of its newest ready-to-serve chelada: Modelo Chelada Tamarindo Picante. The second chelada flavor to join the Casa Modelo portfolio, Modelo Chelada Tamarindo Picante celebrates traditional Mexican ingredients — chipotle peppers and tamarind — to offer fans of Modelo a spicy yet sweet taste profile that embraces one of the most popular and growing flavor trends: the desire for unique, authentic flavor combinations, the company says.

Dos Equis, a brand of White Plains, N.Y.-based Heineken USA, is saying #AdiosAmigo to The Most Interesting Man in the World, as he heads on a one-way Mission to Mars. The latest spot from Dos Equis, Mission to Mars, will be the last commercial featuring actor Jonathan Goldsmith as The Most Interesting Man in the World.
It seems as though U.S. consumers are having a love affair with import beer, based on analysis in this year's beer market report. According to Chicago-based Information Resources Inc. (IRI), dollar sales for import beer were $5.4 billion — an 11.7 percent increase — for the 52 weeks ending Dec. 27, 2015, in U.S. supermarkets, drug stores, mass merchandisers, gas and convenience stores, military commissaries, and select club and dollar retail chains. Case sale gains were just shy of 10 percent during that time period.
Constellation Brands Inc., Chicago, announced that internationally-renowned soccer players Clint Dempsey and Miguel Layún will serve as brand ambassadors for Modelo Especial, a pilsner-style lager brewed for 90 years in Mexico. The brand, which recently became the second most imported beer in the United States, has partnered with Dempsey and Layún as part of its summer marketing campaign, which began this month and centers around the sport of soccer.
Anheuser-Busch launched a new beer, Oculto, inspired by and brewed for nightlife. “Oculto,” which means “hidden,” or “waiting to be found,” in Spanish, combines the social invitation of beer with the exciting nature associated with tequila, the company says.
