Rabobank Group, a global financial services leader based in New York, has published a new report on the global beverage industry, predicting growth that is lower than historical standards but can be mitigated by strategic initiatives focusing on direct selling, co-manufacturing and distribution efficiency, it says.
Popeye Energy commissioned McLean Design to design the packaging for its supplement blend, which contains 70 percent fruit juice, vitamins and a proprietary energy blend that includes natural caffeine, according to the design firm.
Although juices have long been a popular start to the day because of their wholesome nutrition, vitamins and more, the category has experienced numerous innovations aligning with consumer trends.
Bethesda, Md.-based Honest Tea, a subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Co., Atlanta, unveiled its reformulated Honest Kids “fruit-juice sweetened” line of beverages. All five varieties of the juice pouches have been reformulated to remove the organic cane sugar and increase the juice content. Honest Kids beverages now have between 30 and 42 percent juice, an increase by 12 to 26 percentage points, depending on the variety. Nutritionally, the drinks remain at 40 calories for each 6.75-fluid-ounce pouch.
Natural Products Expo West hosted more than 2,000 exhibiting companies and in excess of 60,000 attendees March 8-11 in Anaheim, Calif. Among the exhibitors were about 540 new companies, according to the trade show.
