New craft beers feature nitrogen instead of carbonation

After experimenting with countless iterations and test batches in the nano-brewery at the Sam Adams Boston Brewery, the brewers at Boston-based The Boston Beer Co. announced the release of the first three brews from the Samuel Adams Nitro Project: Nitro White Ale, Nitro IPA and Nitro Coffee Stout.
Thirty-eight percent of consumers prefer aluminum cans when tailgating versus 26 percent who prefer plastic bottles. Thirty-six percent of consumers prefer cans at barbecues or picnics, compared with 30 percent who prefer plastic bottles.

Partnership to improve curbside recycling in the US

The Recycling Partnership, Falls Church, Va., a national nonprofit committed to improving curbside residential recycling, announced that White Plains, N.Y.-based Heineken USA is the first alcohol company member, effective immediately, to join its program. As a leading sponsor, the brewer will provide industry expertise to help improve consumer education, elevate the quality of curbside recycling and drive increased recovery of recyclable glass in communities nationwide, the companies say.

Perrier Sparkling Natural Mineral Water released its newest line of limited-edition packaging designs for the second installment of the brand’s “Inspired by Street Art” collection.
Three cities in Maryland recently named October “Shore Craft Beer and Hard Cider Month.” One of them in Ocean City, also hosted a Shore Craft Beer Festival, which took place Oct. 24 and featured local brewers, according to the Caroline Times Record.
