Sonoma-Cutrer announced three new vintages of its award-winning wines: the 2022 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay, 2021 The Cutrer Chardonnay and 2021 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.

The new vintages showcase the winery’s mastery of both the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, the company says. For the first time in its 40-plus-year history, Sonoma-Cutrer features an all-female team led by its newest and first-ever female Director of Winemaking Cara Morrison and Senior Winemaker Zidanelia Arcidiacono, it adds.

“With such unique weather and already diverse soil types and growing conditions, these new vintages of Sonoma Coast, The Cutrer and Russian River Valley Pinot Noir are sure to be exceptional members of the Sonoma-Cutrer lineup,” Morrison said in a statement.

Arcidiacono added, “Each of these wines are distinctly different while also highlighting the consistency that Sonoma-Cutrer is known for.”

•    The 2022 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay: Is a rich, medium straw color with aromas of stone fruit, oak spice and hints of clove and caramel, toasted nuts, and light honeydew. With creamy richness, the wine boasts flavors of ripe pear and Golden Delicious apple. It features Sonoma-Cutrer’s signature bright acidity with nice length and a soft mid-palate that rounds out to a pleasant, long finish of lingering barrel spice.

•    The 2021 The Cutrer Chardonnay: A richly layered wine with aromas of caramelized nuts, light caramel, ripe pear, apple pie, praline, brown sugar and sweet baking spices, is an opulent wine full of flavors of baked apple and pear, toasted oak, roasted nuts and baking spice. The intense, velvety mid-palate leads to bright acidity and a long, creamy finish.

•    The 2021 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir:  Classic in style, the wine shows an array of elegant aromas with notes of red berries, cranberry, cherry cola, savory spices, a hint of black tea and fresh earth as well as sweet, spicy vanilla from the oak barrel aging. It features a balanced acidity, a juicy core and a medium length on the finish.

Sonoma-Cutrer’s Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (13.9%) is available to purchase for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $25 a bottle, while The Cutrer Chardonnay (14.1%) and Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (14.3%) are available for an SRP of $36. The wines are available at retail locations as well as direct from the winery.
