Germain-Robin, a brand of E. & J. Gallo Winery, released its Single Barrel Pinot Noir Brandy, aged 19 years. The Pinot Noir Single Barrel captures the fruit character of the grape with aromas of stone fruit and barrel spice, with notes of cherry, dried herbs and coffee, and finishes with hints of apricot and Bing cherry, the company notes. The Pinot Noir Single Barrel is packaged in 750-ml bottles, has a 41.4% ABV, with a suggested retail price of $250. Released exclusively at California Brandy House in Napa, followed by a limited release to select markets, Gallo opened California Brandy House last year to raise awareness of premium California brandies such as Germain-Robin, the company says. This is the first single barrel release in a planned series.
