Toyota Material Handling launched a new energy solutions platform: Toyota Industrial Energy Solutions. The program is designed to help the material handling industry meet the complex demands of evolving equipment, the environmental landscape and energy-management requirements. Toyota Industrial Energy Solutions encompasses a suite of energy solutions to meet the current and future demands of material handling, including on-site consultation, environmental support, battery and alternative energy sources, chargers and accessories, and service and repair, the company says. Using resources that are unique to the Toyota dealer network, the new software platform allows customers to increase efficiency and optimize their operations, while also enabling Toyota forklift dealers to perform energy studies to highlight information and pinpoint efficiencies that optimize overall operational productivity. The software is the next step in Toyota’s journey to become a full-line provider of innovative, sustainable energy solutions for the material handling industry, particularly as customers seek environmentally sustainable ways to power their forklifts, it says. Toyota Industrial Energy Solutions’ benefits include reducing maintenance costs, lowering electric utility bills, reducing forklift downtime and optimizing charging efficiency. Additionally, the company’s newest UL-rated lithium-ion battery lineup has obtained UL-E and UL-EE certification for the combination of lift truck and lithium-ion batteries on a sit-down counterbalanced forklift, the first company to do so, it says.
