Steel King Industries Inc. unveiled the SK2000 closed-tube roll form rack system featuring a fully welded tubular upright. The tubular upright gives rack systems superior impact and torsional resistance compared with open-back style uprights, the company says. The rack system is ideal for a wide range of warehouse applications and markets including food and beverage, it adds. Because the SK2000 is roll-form steel, it is cost-effective for small storage applications, and has the strength and durability to provide the framework for a multi-level pick module/distribution center. The closed-tube beams and upright rack frames make each pallet rack system safer and more functional, providing a 250 percent greater frontal impact strength, 68 percent greater side impact resistance, and 44 times greater torsional strength compared with open-back columns, it says. In addition, SK2000 columns feature a 90-degree bend and no corner holes. Because it is a boltless rack system with teardrop connections, the columns can be assembled without tools, it adds. Columns are available in multiple sizes and thicknesses according to application needs.
