Virgin Wines launches wine, music experience

Sweepstakes for KISS End of the Road farewell tour part of launch

In collaboration with South Norwalk, Conn.-based Direct Wines Inc., Virgin Wines, Largo, Fla., is introducing the ultimate club for wine and music fans, the company says. Since the 1970s, Virgin has been a major force in the music world. Through Virgin Wines, the brand is bringing together wines from around the world and curated playlists for each bottle. Additionally, Virgin Wines is releasing an exclusive selection featuring bottles inspired by some of the legends of rock, it says.

Virgin Wines' mission is to track down authentic, handcrafted bottles with a focus on exciting flavors and genuine value, according to the company. With this new club, members also will enjoy limited-edition, music-inspired wines. The introductory 12-bottle offer includes Rolling Stones 50th Anniversary Cabernet Sauvignon, KISS Malbec and a special red blend inspired by The Police, alongside wines from California, Washington, Italy, Spain and Argentina. This Greatest Hits collection is $79.99 (plus applicable tax) including shipping. To add to the multi-sensory experience, members can listen to customized playlists for all wines on Spotify or at virginwines.com/music.

"Virgin Wines puts a fresh and fun spin on wine clubs drawing on Virgin's rich musical heritage and dedication to providing special experiences," said Duncan Hurley, creative director of Direct Wines, in a statement. "It promises to be an action-packed journey of discovery for wine and music fans alike – fantastic bottles from the world's most exciting wine regions, exclusive rock 'n' roll labels, and every wine paired with the perfect soundtrack. What's not to love?"

Members will receive quarterly shipments comprising of an international selection of top-value wines, further collectible, music-themed bottles, full tasting notes and more music pairings. Cases will be tailored to every customer's personal taste and there is a 100 percent money-back guarantee on every bottle, the company says.

As part of the launch, Virgin Wines is running a sweepstakes to win a prize of two VIP packages (together valued at more than $3,000) for the KISS End of the Road farewell tour. The following is included in the package:
