CideRoad LLC, Mendham, N.J., launched an organic line of switchel beverages. Also known as “haymaker’s punch,” switchel typically features water, vinegar and ginger, according to Wikipedia. CideRoad Organic Switchel beverages will be available in Original, Blueberry and Cherry flavors.
All CideRoad Organic Switchel varieties are certified organic by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and made with organic Vermont maple syrup, organic apple cider vinegar and organic ginger juice. The products are packaged in 14-ounce glass bottles. CideRoad currently is available at select retail outlets in the Northeast region and will be available nationwide soon.
CideRoad Founders Kevin and Hilary Duffy were inspired to launch the brand after tasting Switchel when driving down a side road in an old New England town, the company says.
“After that unforgettable inaugural swig, we were inspired to develop our own blend and share it with friends, and now the world,” the couple said in a statement. “We’re looking forward to having people experience our product. As we like to say, CideRoad will take their taste buds on a joy ride.”
CideRoad has appointed Phillip Tozzi and Associates as its natural food broker from Richmond, Va., through Maine. Cascadia Managing Brands is assisting with the sales and distribution, and Mint Advertising is its advertising agency.
