Marley Beverage Co., Southfield, Mich., appointed Harry Bigelow as its new president and chief executive officer, effective June 2. Bigelow brings with him more than 30 years of beverage industry experience in both the non-alcohol and alcohol categories in North America. He has previously served in executive management roles with E. & J. Gallo Winery, PepsiCo Inc., Diageo North America and Red Bull GmbH. Most recently, he served as general manager and vice president of Red Bull North America, Santa Monica, Calif.

"I'm extremely excited about the opportunity to take the Marley Beverage Co. to the next stage of growth and development," Bigelow said in a statement. Likewise, the company looks forward to Bigelow's experience and leadership skills in building the existing and future business of Marley Beverage Co.'s portfolio, it says.

The role of president and chief executive officer was previously occupied until August 2013 by Kevin McClafferty, who now has become the president of Splash Beverage Group, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. While Marley Beverage Co. searched for a new president and chief executive officer, day-to-day operations were managed by the board of directors, ownership and key executive personnel, the company says.

Marley Beverage Co. was created in partnership with reggae musician Bob Marley's family. The company’s flagship brand, Marley's Mellow Mood, is a line of relaxation drinks that help consumers stay "mellow.” Marley Beverage Co. also is a sponsor of 1love, a public charity created by the Marley family to realize Bob Marley's vision of hope, peace and unity.
